Just cause

Found this image somewhere on the internet, probably a tumblr site since I have no idea of its actual source. I just wanted it on my blog so I could remember its soft, quiet, and neutral color palette, and because I just think it's purrrrty. Maybe it's all that Life I've been watching, but man is nature cool!

LA livin'

As you can see, my LA trip comprised mostly of food, sun, beach, more food, and movies in the park cemetery! I couldn't have asked for a better vacation. It relaxed me, reinvigorated me, and reminded me of how I want my life to be. Nothing says it better than this street graffiti:



Now it's back to reality, back to work, back to getting my life the way I want it. There's just nothing to it but to do it!

Vacation

I'm taking a few days off and headed west for a much needed vacation. There will be beach laziness galore and I can't wait! Before I go, I thought I'd share my latest batch of castings. These guys will get a good workin' on when I get back, but for now, BEACH TIME!

It's about Due time...

...to get my hands on one of these tops! Or all of them. I love it when designers can create variety based on one simple model. Or maybe I just want to wear nature's patterns all over my body. Either way, these tops by Due are simple with an artistic edge and I like it.

It's all coming together

Roy's Got a Way with Dots

I went on a impromptu trip to the Art Institute and perused the Roy Lichtenstein exhibit. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. That man knows how to work some dots. Oh and the colors...above is one of my favorite color palettes amongst the many. Three words to sum it all up? Vibrant. Sarcastic. Playful. Check it out if you're in the downtown Chicago area.

I think I need to watch this movie

A movie about underwater sea creatures that I'm meant to gasp at and leave with a sense of wonder?? Um, yes please. Here is the artist's statement:

"Imagine global co-operation for a global problem. Imagine corals as the barometer of climate change. Imagine we are the pivot point. Imagine rekindling Venus.

My intent is to leave the audience with a sense of wonder for the complexity of the coral community and a deep-felt longing to see it survive.

What is apparent when you watch the film is the remarkable survival mechanisms already at play in the community of coral reefs, mechanisms that will be put to the test in the coming years. We might see ourselves as two different communities interconnected in our own survival."
