Progress

For those of you who don't follow me on the FB or instagram, I've posted a few action shots of my most recent jewelry making progress. Here they are corralled together for you on one easy convenient blog post.

This is a casting tree. This is how we jewelry people produce multiples.

This is my tumbler in action. This is how we jewelry people clean more than one thing at a time, aka life saver.
Here are my casted pieces all piled up neatly, sitting there, taunting me with the many hours of work ahead.
During one of my many zombie-like filing sessions, I looked down and noticed, "Daaaaang my tool is so badass." It's the little things that keep me going :)
ALSO, another little thing...

Isn't it amazing when the sky turns this deep blue color?? I know, random. But this is one of my favorite colors and I can't believe my camera phone actually caught it.
Happy Wednesday everybody!

Summer Break

I escaped to LA for the last 5 days for a much needed vacation and a mini reunion with some lifelong friends.

We spent two entire days at the beach,

Waited in line for the most glorious movie-in-the-park experience,
I watched my friends deck themselves out in my new jewelry collection. I must confess, my new pieces look fabulous in the California sun!

Love these guys!
Nothing beats a reenergizing five day vacation of sunshine, lounging, eating, drinking, and nonstop laughing. Now, I'm ready for the two month nonstop work ahead of me to get ready for Renegade Craft Fair!

Clutter BOMB!

I have been a jumble of a mess this past week with work, CAD classes, AND being sick! It's been a huge blur so pardon my absence. But I wanted to pop in and say hello and bombard you with a clutter bomb of images and random thoughts.

Here I am test driving the new Surveyor Ring in bronze (pointer finger ring). Like what you see?? Go here to get one of your very own!

Chicago has finally accepted that it's summer. Isn't this city beautiful??

Mr. T participated in his very first gallery opening. He displayed original drawings from his comics and he even sold one of them to a mysterious buyer! Go Mr. T! I'm so proud of him. Oh and there's his lovely back side :)

On my way to the Blackhawks game and spotted an artsy fartsy photo op. Oooooo.
CAD classes! I've been spending every Wednesday night and Saturday mornings this past month in CAD classes. Pretty neat huh? Crazy what you can make with a computer.
And lastly, I just got a new toy! I decided it was time to invest in a tumbler.  Reason being, I'll soon be crazy busy making lots of inventory for an exciting event...
....Renegade Craft Fair!!! I'll be participating in the summer event taking place in Chicago. The winter one was such a great experience. Stay tuned throughout the next 2 months. I'm sure I'll be moaning and groaning and keeping you posted on all my progress.

All right folks. Thanks for listening to my ramblings about this past week. I promise I'll get over this cold soon and get back to more comprehensive thoughts. Have a great Sunday!

Treasure Hunting at Architectural Artifacts

Last Sunday, Mr. T and I stumbled across this neighborhood gem of a store:

Like all the businesses along Ravenswood avenue, you wouldn't even know Architectural Artifacts existed unless you walked right by it making it that much more enthralling. Also, it's not like any normal antique shop. The space is HUGE, and open, and clean, with lots of light! And they display everything so there's room to actually walk around easily and see everything easily. It's great and a must-see if you're ever in Chicago.

Park art

These large ceramic/stone vessels are on display right now in Millenium Park and I'm really liking the glaze patterns.

The Sun Like You've Never Seen It

I know this video was to capture a giant hole in the sun (which can't be good), but holy moly is it beautiful! I wish I could see the sun like this everyday. Speaking of which, I wish I could just see the sun. It's been so rainy here in Chicago...hello? Summer? Where are you? It's freakin' June??? ANYWAY, I digress.

This video was made via a combination of 3 wavelengths of UV light. Read more about the giant hole here.

My new Fall 2013 Collection: One Small Step, is ready!

Fall?! I know it's only June, but I was really excited to get this out to the world. And I figured since I only release about one collection a year, I'd get some buzz going before Fall actually hits. I do plan on releasing a few more items as the season approaches so don't worry, this isn't it for the year!

Here's a sampling of the new collection:
